Dr. Salem Omar Sati

CV

Salem Sati, M.Sc. received his Master of Science degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering from the Higher Institute of Industry (HII) in Libya. He was an Assistant Lecturer at Misurata University from 2008 to 2014 and responsible in teaching various courses (e.g Computer Networks, Operating Systems and Network Security). In that time, he also was an instructor in the CISCO Academy and a member of consulting for IT & Telecommunication companies (e.g LISCO, CAC , ALSABAQ, ICONA).

Since August 2014 he is researcher and Ph.D. student in the Lab for Technology of Social Networks, led by Jun.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Kalman Graffi.

His research interests are secure routing and data storage in opportunistic networks.

My Research

Security and Scalability of Overlay-enhanced Opportunistic Networks

Opportunistic networks represent a special sub-class of delay tolerant networks, encompassing mobile peer-to-peer networks usually formed by human-carried devices. In these networks, we concentrate the research on routing and opportunistic content distribution with specific design challenges such as infrastructure independence, protocol design, energy-efficiency, scalability and security.

Based on analyzing and performance evolution of different designed and implemented systems that (partially or fully) incorporate the concepts of opportunistic networking, we will design and implement a mobile file sharing over wireless opportunistic networks.

Finally some tools such as simulators and testbeds will be used to proof
and evaluate the implemented system.
